2025 Tata Sierra launching tomorrow: Price expectations, engines, specifications and more

Tata Motors is preparing to launch the all-new 2025 Tata Sierra SUV in the Indian market tomorrow, November 25, 2025. Recently shown in its production-ready form, the revived Sierra gives us our clearest look yet at how this iconic nameplate has been brought back to life following its 2003 exit. At the time of launch, Tata Motors will finally reveal the prices, variants and engine options. Here’s a quick look at everything we know so far.Prices are expected to start around Rs 10-11 lakh (ex-showroom). Some dealers have already started accepting bookings. Dealers are charging small token amounts, in some cases as little as Rs 11,000, to note down customer details and preferred variants. These are not official bookings, a dealer initiative to understand the demand and keep things organized. Official bookings are expected to start from tomorrow.

The new Tata Sierra is a departure from the classic SUV that ruled the roads in the 2000s. It features bold ‘Sierra’ badging at both ends, a connected LED light bar at the front, a textured grille design and the main LED headlamps are positioned low on the fascia. Whereas, the vertically mounted fog lamps sit close to the edge of the bumper.

From the side, the Sierra retains its unmistakable identity with the signature Alpine window-inspired design, indicative of the original model. However, Tata has re-imagined it for the modern era by using a partially blacked-out B-pillar and a contrasting black roof instead of a full glass section. The dark C-pillar further enhances this effect, creating a smooth, floating roofline that blends in. Other highlights include blacked-out ORVMs and C-pillars, flush door handles, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna, black body cladding around the wheel arches and doors, skid plates and more.

Moving inside, the cabin takes inspiration from other Tata models and features a mix of black and gray theme; However, it stands out for its screen-heavy layout. The dashboard features three displays – a dedicated instrument cluster for the driver and a pair of infotainment screens that can share functions and media between them. The SUV also gets Tata’s latest four-spoke steering wheel from Curve, which features an illuminated logo and touch-based controls. Feature highlights include dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, rear window sunshade, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, connected car technology, ventilated and powered front seats and more.

Talking about the powertrain, the new Tata Sierra is expected to debut Tata’s flagship 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. This motor is likely to produce around 170hp and 280Nm, and can be mated to both manual and automatic gearboxes. Tata is also expected to offer a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with the Sierra, although this too has not been confirmed. This unit will help put the SUV in a more competitive position in terms of pricing. The 1.5-litre diesel engine currently seen in the Curve, Altroz and Nexon is also expected to be a part of the lineup.
