Norton Motorcycles has rolled out the first Atlas motorcycle from TVS Motor Company’s manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The development comes ahead of the model’s official global debut next month, and customer deliveries are expected to begin at the end of the third quarter of this year. The event highlighted the growing collaboration between Norton and its parent company TVS Motor, combining British design and engineering expertise with Indian manufacturing capabilities.Atlas is one of the most significant new products in Norton’s modern portfolio. The motorcycle marks the British brand’s return to the adventure segment, while the Atlas GT will cater to sport-touring customers. Designed and engineered at Norton’s headquarters in Solihull, UK, the Atlas is powered by a 585cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree firing order. The engine is housed in a mild steel trellis frame. The motorcycle is equipped with a Bosch six-axis IMU, lean-sensitive rider aids, five configurable riding modes, fully adjustable KYB suspension, cornering cruise control, 8-inch TFT instrument display and smartphone connectivity via Norton Rider app. While the Atlas uses a 19-inch front wheel for better suitability for adventure riding, the Atlas GT adopts 17-inch wheels at both ends for a more road-focused setup. The production of the Atlas range at the Hosur facility follows Norton’s decision to utilize the manufacturing strengths of TVS Motor. The company’s Solihull plant is currently focused on production of the Max R superbike and operating at full capacity, with Hosur selected as the production hub for the Atlas and Atlas GT models.Looking to the future, Norton is planning to launch Atlas in India later this year. The motorcycle is also expected to be sold through TVS’s upcoming premium retail network, called TVS Paddock, which is scheduled to commence operations during Q2 FY27. The new retail format aims to provide an exclusive ownership and customer experience for premium motorcycle buyers.
