Huge reduction of Rs 10 lakh in the price of Tesla Model Y! Check variants, new prices

Tesla has revised its India lineup for the Model Y electric SUV. The company has launched the new 2026 Model Y Premium RWD trim, as well as removed the top-spec Long Range Premium RWD variant from sale. The base model Y is now significantly more affordable, with a price cut of over Rs 10 lakh compared to the discontinued long-range premium RWD variant.The newly launched Tesla Model Y Premium rear-wheel drive is priced at Rs 50.89 lakh, ex-showroom, while the earlier Long Range Premium RWD variant, which has now been discontinued, is priced at over Rs 67 lakh. Tesla will now continue with a simplified two-variant lineup in India consisting of a five-seat Model Y Premium RWD and a six-seat Model YL Premium AWD.The new Model Y premium RWD becomes the entry point into Tesla’s India portfolio and undercuts the price of the larger six-seat model YL by around Rs 11.1 lakh. Deliveries of the electric SUV are scheduled to begin from July 2026.

Tesla Model Y Premium RWD: features

Inside the cabin, this EV features an all-black interior theme, a large 16-inch touchscreen with an updated UI. Apart from the standard black cabin theme, Tesla is also offering a new ‘Zen Grey’ interior option. The Model Y also offers 2,138 liters of storage space with premium power-folding seats and seating for up to five people.In terms of performance, this electric SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds and offers a claimed WLTP-certified driving range of up to 500 km on a full charge.Tesla has also revealed the ownership benefits of the new variant. The company says that buyers can buy Model Y Premium RWD at EMIs starting from Rs 39,990 with a down payment of Rs 6 lakh. The company said that its home charging program is now active across all states in India, allowing owners to easily charge their vehicles at home. Along with the standard Model Y Premium, Tesla also continues to offer the larger six-seat Model YL in India. Launched last month, the model YL comes with a claimed WLTP range of up to 681 km.
